What we are
We assemble and finish watches for other people’s names. Twelve references, five lines,
and a bench that does everything from timing to pressure testing in the same building. We do not
sell under a name of our own — if we did, every buyer on this page would be buying from a
competitor.
How the line was chosen
Twelve references is not a catalogue, it is a decision. Each one is a case we can hold a
tolerance on across a three-thousand-piece run, with a movement that is still serviceable in five
years. We dropped more shapes than we kept: the ones that were pretty at one piece and drifted at
five hundred are not here.
Movements
Seiko NH35, NH36 and NH38; Seiko VH31 and VK64; Miyota 9015; Ronda 763; Seagull ST1901.
Bought through authorised distributors, with the movement maker’s warranty behind ours. We will
not fit a grey-market movement to save three dollars — the failure rate comes back to us in
warranty claims anyway.
Why the dials are blank
Because the dial is the only part of a watch that belongs to the buyer. Printing our name there
would be printing our name on your product. The blank dial is not a design statement — it is
the whole business model, and it is why the price on this site is the price of the case.
What we do not claim
No certification numbers we cannot show you. No factory photographs of somebody else’s floor.
No capacity figures we would have to invent. If you need an audit before an order, ask — we
would rather be inspected than believed.
Visiting
Dongguan, Guangdong. Buyers visit the bench before a first production run more often than not,
and we prefer it that way. Write to sales@blankdial.com for an appointment.
